Eberly College of Science Outreach Program

Main Content

The primary mission of the Outreach Office is to provide a means for faculty members to enhance their research proposals by assisting them in creating and presenting quality, sustainable science and math education programs for targeted audiences.

The Eberly College of Science Outreach Office helps organize, implement, direct, and find funding for multiple educational programs for families, K-12 students and teachers, the general public, and special audiences.

Whether you are a faculty member looking for help in writing your broader impacts or education and outreach portion of a grant, a teacher searching for exciting and interactive workshops for continuing education, a parent looking for quality science instruction for your child, or someone with a passing interest in science, the Outreach Office can find or develop a program that meets your needs.

With a staff of former teachers and researchers, an instructional designer for online courses, and a full slate of programs ranging from Science-U, our premier summer science camp program for students in grades 2 – 12, to teacher workshops, to one-day, one-hour lab-based demonstrations, we have a wide variety of programs for every age group and audience.

Faculty members searching for advice and support for a National Science Foundation CAREER Award should contact Barbara Houtz, Director of Outreach, at least a month before the proposal deadline.
